Ottawa 67’s bounce back with big win against Storm

After suffering their ugliest loss of the 2023-2024 Ontario Hockey League (OHL) season, the Ottawa 67’s bounced back in a a big way a few days later.

The Barber Poles sent the enthusiastic hometown crowd home happy after a 4-1 win at TD Place Arena on Friday, Nov. 3 against the Guelph Storm.

With the win, the 67’s snap their first two-game losing skid of the season, and the team was without Henry Mews and Tuomas Uronen, who missed the game due to injury.

Jack Dever’s fourth goal of the season proved to be the game winner.

Also scoring for the 67’s were Matthew Mayich, captain Luca Pinelli and Brady Stonehouse.

It was Mayich’s first goal of the OHL campaign.

Dever pitched in with two assists on the night.

Collin MacKenzie stopped 22 of 23 shots to earn the win in goal for the 67’s.

Stonehouse now has six goals in four career games vs the Guelph Storm, scoring in each contest.

Pinelli has not gone consecutive games without a point this season.

The 67’s will look for their second straight win when they host the Barrie Colts on Sunday, Oct. 5 at 2 p.m.
