Driver charged with impaired driving, police find open beer can in vehicle

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have laid charges against a driver after an officer saw an open beer can in their vehicle.

The OPP said on X that the stop took place at 9:19 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 17 on Edward Street in Prescott.

The driver was initially stopped for not wearing a seatbelt, but an officer noticed an open beer car while the vehicle was pulled over.

Police said the driver blew two and a half times the legal limit, and has been arrested and charged for impaired driving and other offences.

The vehicle has been impounded.
