The Conservative Party of Canada has announced that Matthew Luloff, a current Ottawa city councillor, has been named its candidate for the Orléans riding in the next federal election.
The party made the announcement on Friday, Nov. 10.
“As a longtime advocate for economic prosperity and development in my community, I understand that unleashing the power of our workforce by cutting red tape and excessive regulation, axing the Liberal carbon tax, and reining in wasteful spending is what we need to do in order to bring home powerful paycheques and lower prices for the hardworking people of Orléans,” said Luloff.
Luloff represents the ward of Orléans East-Cumberland, was re-elected to city council in 2022.
He currently serves as chair of the Ottawa Public Library Board.
He was born and raised in Ottawa’s east end, and served with the Governor General’s Foot Guards and the Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry. After training as a reconnaissance patrolman, he deployed to Afghanistan in February 2008
“Matt Luloff will be a tremendous asset to the team and a strong advocate for the people of Orléans,” the party’s statement said.
