One person facing charges after vehicle stolen from Barrhaven residence

Ottawa police have arrested and charged a person from Montreal after a vehicle was stolen from a home in Barrhaven earlier this morning.

The Ottawa Police Service (OPS) said on X, a Toyota RAV4 was seen speeding on Stranherd Drive near Barrhaven at approximately 3:30 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 16.

Police said the vehicle was stolen from a residence nearby.

The driver of the stolen vehicle abandoned it and fled on foot, but was later found.

The 25-year-old was arrested and charged with theft of a Motor vehicle, dangerous operation, possession of property obtained by crime, obstructing a peace officer, and mischief to property.
