CP Holiday Train set to arrive in Ottawa Valley

The Canadian Pacific (CP) Holiday Train is set to make its way through the Ottawa Valley.

The train, decorated with hundreds of thousands of LED lights, is making its annual journey through Canada and the U.S. to bring live music and raise holiday spirits, while also raising money and collecting food donations for local food banks.

On Monday, Nov. 27, the holiday train will make the following local stops:

Each event it free, though attendees are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items and cash donations. Since its inception in 1999, the CPKC Holiday Train has raised more than $22.5-million and more than 5-million pounds of food for community food banks across North America.

In Finch, donations will benefit the Community Food Share, in Merrickville, they will benefit the Rideau Community Health Service, in Smiths Falls, donations go to the Smiths Falls Community Food Bank, and in Perth, donations will benefit The Table Community Food Centre.
