1 taken to hospital as Ottawa firefighters knock down apartment fire on Bronson Avenue
Ottawa Fire Service (OFS) contained a fire at a 40 unit high rise Wednesday afternoon at the 200 block of Bronson Avenue.
Fire crews said they arrived on scene at about 3:15 p.m. and confirmed an active fire on the 3rd floor of the building. They also found that the occupant had already left the apartment and was at the front door of the high-rise.
Firefighters treated the individual for lacerations and burns until paramedics arrived on scene. The individual was then taken to hospital.

Fire crews knocked down the flames which they said spread onto the unit’s balcony and the one above.
No other occupants were in the burning apartment.
OFS confirmed multiple occupants of the building will be displaced because of the fire and will require victim assistance.
Ottawa Police Services (OPS) said Bronson Avenue was closed in both directions between MacLaren and Lisgar. Somserset is also closed in both directions between Percy and Cambridge Street North during the fire.
