Seven charges laid after break and enter investigation in Embrun

Seven charges have been laid following two break and enters in Embrun last month.
Members of the Russell County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a break and enter at a local business on Notre Dame Street on Wednesday, Dec. 27. A short time later, officers responded to a second break and enter at a home on Hybrid Street.
As a result of the investigation, Russell County OPP officers, along with the OPP Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) and the OPP Forensic Identification Services (FIS), executed a search warrant at a home.
Items from the break and enters were recovered and a 40-year-old from Embrun was charged with the following offences:
- Break and Enter (two counts)
- Theft Under $,5000 (two counts)
- Mischief Under $5,000 (two counts)
- Trespassing at Night
The accused was held for bail.
