Daytime winter parking ban in effect Wednesday
If you park your vehicle on Ottawa streets during the day, you’ll need to find a different spot on Wednesday.
Because of weather conditions from the winter storm, a daytime winter parking ban will be in effect between 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. across Ottawa, according to a media release by the city.
They warn that those hours may be extended if road crews need more time to clear out the snow.

You can visit the city website to find out where you can park your vehicle during the ban though the city reminds people that they need to vacate those spots once the ban ends.
The capital is under a winter storm advisory and is expecting between 10 and 20 cm of snow from Tuesday afternoon into Wednesday.
During the ban, parking is prohibited on city streets to let snow crews plow easier. Any vehicles still parked could be ticketed and towed, though people with on-street monthly parking permits are exempt when parked in residential parking permit zones.
The fine for violating the winter weather parking ban is $125, though that drops to $105 for those who pay quickly.

Available parking
During winter weather parking bans, residents will have access to select OC Transpo park and rides as well as certain recreation centres.
Some city parking garages are available during winter parking bans, and you can visit the website to find out where they are.
Some areas on commercial main streets are exempt from winter parking bans and are identified by signs.
