Elderly man dead following crash on Hwy. 174 in Cumberland

An elderly man is dead after a two-car crash east of Ottawa.

On Wednesday Jan. 10 around 5:30 p.m., Ottawa Police Service (OPS) officers were called to a two-vehicle collision on Highway 174 near Peter Harkness Lane.

An 85-year-old male driver died at the scene due to the injuries obtained in the crash.

The driver of the other vehicle was taken to hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

The Ottawa Police Service Fatal Collision Unit is investigating the fatal collision.

The investigation into the cause of the crash continues and officials would like to speak with anyone who potentially witnessed the collision.
