Driver extracted, ‘multiple’ people injured in Alta Vista pile-up

Firefighters had to extract a driver from their car after a four-vehicle crash left multiple people injured in the city’s south end.

Ottawa Fire Service (OFS) said they were called to the intersection of Riverside Drive and Neil Way at around 8:52 a.m. on Sunday after getting reports of a four-vehicle crash.

When fire crews arrived, they found one of the drivers trapped in their car.

After stabilizing the vehicle, firefighters extracted them within a few minutes using specialized tools.

OFS said ‘multiple’ people were injured but could not confirm the exact number.
