Firefighters had to extract a driver from their car after a four-vehicle crash left multiple people injured in the city’s south end.
Ottawa Fire Service (OFS) said they were called to the intersection of Riverside Drive and Neil Way at around 8:52 a.m. on Sunday after getting reports of a four-vehicle crash.
When fire crews arrived, they found one of the drivers trapped in their car.
After stabilizing the vehicle, firefighters extracted them within a few minutes using specialized tools.
OFS said ‘multiple’ people were injured but could not confirm the exact number.
Police posted on social media that they were on scene nearby “dealing with a collision related to impaired driving”.
Police closed off Riverside Drive near Bank Street for a little over an hour but the area has since been re-opened.
No charges have been laid.
