January shooting in Little Italy sparks homicide investigation after victim dies

Ottawa police are now treating a shooting in Little Italy almost two weeks ago as a homicide investigation.

The Ottawa Paramedic Service and Ottawa Police Service (OPS) responded to an apartment building in the 100 block of Champagne Avenue South around 1:15 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 29.

The victim succumbed to his injuries in hospital on Thursday.

He has been identified as 33-year-old Jama Roble of Ottawa, ON.

There are no further details at this time from police.
