Ottawa police on the lookout for suspect in first homicide of the year

Police are looking for a suspect wanted for the shooting death of an Ottawa man in Little Italy over two weeks ago.

Ottawa Police Service (OPS) said the shooting happened on Campagne Avenue South on Jan. 29.

Police found a man who was transported to hospital with critical injuries but was later pronounced dead.

They identified the victim as 33-year-old Jama Roble.

Police said that Gibriil Bakal, 29, of Edmonton is wanted for first-degree murder.

He is described as black, six-foot-one and 190 pounds.
