Ottawa police looking for suspect in construction break and enters

Police are asking the public for help finding a suspect wanted for a string of break-and-enters at construction sites across the city.

Ottawa Police Service (OPS) says the incidents happened between Jan. 29 and Feb. 23.

Police say the first break and enter was at the 100 block of Montreal Road at around 9:30 p.m. on Jan 29. The next was on Feb. 14 at the 2000 block of Wellington Private. The final incident was at around 8:50 p.m. on Feb. 23 at Baseline Road.

In each case, a lone male suspect broke into a construction site and stole tools and copper wire.

Police describe the suspect as between 30 and 40 years old, around six feet tall with a large build and wearing thin frame glasses.

OPS says he is believed to have committed similar break and enters in Gatineau.

Police ask anyone with information on his identity, or information about this incident, to call the OPS Break and Enter Unit at 613-236-1222, ext. 4533.
