Upper Ottawa Valley OPP arrest 4 after Pembroke stabbing

Provincial Police have charged four people after an assault in downtown Pembroke, Ont. on Tuesday.

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) say officers were called to Pembroke Street West at around 9 p.m.

Police say they found a 25-year-old man with a stab wound and other minor injuries. Emergency crews brought the victim to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigators have arrested four people.

Richard Adams, 38 was charged with assault with a weapon, forcible confinement and failure to comply with a prohibition order. Meryl McGivern, 37 was charged with assault, forcible confinement and uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm. Jaclyn Shaffer, 43 was charged with assault with a weapon and dangerous operation of a vehicle. Jade Charlebois, 25 was charged with assault with a weapon.

Police say all four have been released and are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke on April 15.
