Flipped tow truck on Hwy. 401 being recovered on Saturday

Police say they responded to a report of a tow truck pulling a concrete truck falling into a ditch on Monday.

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) says that it happened shortly after 2 p.m. on Highway 401 westbound at mile marker 548 between the Highway 37 exit and Shannonville Road exit.

Police say when they arrived, paramedics were already on scene.

The driver sustained minor injuries.

Officers say the heavy tow hit the shoulder and ended up in the north ditch, then the vehicle flipped on its side and was still connected to the concrete pump truck.

Vehicle recovery will happen on March 30 starting at 10 p.m.

Police say the driving lane will be closed to accommodate the recovery so expect minor delays until crews clear the area.
