Student suffers life-threatening injuries in Nepean stabbing

A male teenager has been taken to hospital in critical condition after a stabbing in Nepean.

The Ottawa Paramedic Service told CityNews Ottawa the teen suffered life-threatening injuries in the stabbing, which occurred around 12 p.m. on Thursday, May 2.

A student from Sir Guy Carleton Secondary School was taken to hospital, an Ottawa Carleton District School Board (OCDSB) spokesperson confirmed.

“The school has been in contact with the student’s family and is cooperating with the police investigation,” they said.

The school was put in a Shelter in Place safety mode, which means access to the school was restricted. It was released in the early afternoon.

OCDSB’s statement said the “serious incident” happened in the 100 block of Constellation Drive in Nepean.

“There is a significant police presence,” a post from the force on X reads.

The Ottawa Police Service (OPS) tells CityNews Ottawa that a call for service came in at 11:59 a.m.
