Lane and sidewalk closures on Macdonald-Cartier Bridge

Ottawa residents should expect lane and sidewalk closures on the Macdonald-Cartier Bridge beginning this Thursday until next week.

There will be closures, related to maintenance work, during the following periods:

• Thursday, May 23, to Friday, May 24, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
• Saturday, May 25, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
• Sunday, May 26, from 12 to 9 p.m.
• Monday, May 27, to Wednesday, May 29, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

At least two lanes will remain open to traffic, in alternating directions.

Only one exterior lane — adjacent to the sidewalks — and one sidewalk will be closed at a time.

According to Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC), the schedule could change based on weather conditions.

PSPC is asking the public to exercise caution when travelling across the bridge.
