Ottawa police ask for help identifying suspects in west end arson

The Ottawa Police Service (OPS) is asking the public for help identifying two suspects responsible for an arson in the west end.
According to the arson unit, two men attended a single-family home in the area of Merivale Road and Capilano Drive around 1 a.m. on April 2, 2024.
The two men proceeded to pour accelerant on the property, lit a fire, and then quickly left the area on foot.
The first suspect is described as:
- White
- Approximately 20-35 years old
- Approximately 180 lbs. (82 kgs)
- Believed to be right-handed
At the time of the incident, he is seen wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, gray pants, gray running shoes, a ski mask concealing his face and gloves on his hands.
The second suspect is described as:
- White
- Approximately 20-35 years old
- Approximately 180 lbs. (82 kgs)
- Believed to be left-handed
At the time of the incident, he is seen wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, gray pants and black boots.
He may have also sustained fire injuries to his face such as singed eyebrows and hair.
