The Civic long weekend is upon us.

That means there are a number of municipal closures and schedule changes to be aware of.

Monday, August 5 is not a statutory holiday so many retail stores are open and it’s business as usual in Quebec, however, City of Ottawa services are affected.

Shopping

Rideau Centre: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Bayshore: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
St. Laurent: 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Billings Bridge: 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Place d’Orleans: 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Carlingwood: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The ByWard Market is open.
Most grocery stores are open.
Shoppers Drug Mart locations are open.

LCBO and Beer Stores

Select The Beer Store locations will be open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

1984 Baseline Road.
515 Somerset Street.
548 Montreal Road.
499 Terry Fox Drive.
3500 Fallowfield Road.
2276 Tenth Line Road.

Select LCBO outlets will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and you’re encouraged to call ahead.

OC Transpo

Buses will run on a Saturday schedule, with enhanced service on Routes 25, 63, 74, and 85.
Select trips on Routes 61, 63, and 75 will be extended to or from Gatineau during peak periods.
O-Train Line 1 will run from 5 a.m. to 1 a.m.
Line 2 bus service will run from 6:30 a.m. to 12 a.m.
Para Transpo will run on a holiday service.

Recreation services

Many community centres and recreation facilities will be closed, with a limited number of indoor pools, arenas, recreation and fitness complexes open and operating on a modified schedule. Please check the facility pages on ottawa.ca for details.
Outdoor pools, splash pads and wading pools will be open.
Beaches will be open with lifeguards on duty. Hours, details and locations are available at Outdoor swim and splash.
Arts Court, Nepean Creative Arts Centre, Nepean Visual Arts Centre, City-operated museums, Meridian Theatres @ Centrepointe, and Shenkman Arts Centre will be closed.

Client Service Centres

The City’s 3-1-1 Contact Centre will be open for urgent matters only. Visit ottawa.ca/311 for more information.
The Client Services Centres at Ottawa City Hall, Ben Franklin Place, 580 Terry Fox Drive, 255 Centrum Boulevard and the City’s Provincial Offences Court at 100 Constellation Drive will be closed.
The Business Licensing Centre at 735 Industrial Avenue will be closed.

Green bin, recycling and garbage collection

There will be no curbside green bin, recycling, garbage or bulky item collection. Collection scheduled for Monday will be collected on Tuesday. Collection will be delayed by one day for the entire week.
Multi-residential garbage containers will be collected on the regular collection day. Multi-residential bulky items, recycling, and green bin collection scheduled for Monday will be collected on Tuesday. Collection for these items will also be delayed by one day for the rest of the week.
The Trail Waste Facility will be open.
