Median on Hwy. 417 repaired after diesel fuel truck crash

A diesel fuel truck that collided with the centre concrete barrier on Highway 417 just before 5 a.m. on Tuesday backed traffic up for hours.

The Ottawa Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), the Ontario Ministry of Transportation (MTO) and Ottawa Fire Service were on scene near Bronson Avenue. OPP told CityNews officers left but MTO remained on scene into the afternoon.

Repair crews responded to realign the median barrier. All lanes have since reopened.

Update: Additional eastbound lanes are being closed temporarily to allow for media repairs. Only one westbound lane remains closed. Allow extra time or find an alternate route if possible as traffic will still be slow through the Bronson area. ^bd
