Man arrested and charged in OC Transpo assault

The Ottawa Police Service (OPS) have arrested and charged a man they said is responsible for an assault on a city bus last month.

OPS released images on Thursday of the suspect soliciting help from the public to identify the individual.

On Friday, police say they found and arrested the suspect.

30-year-old Patrick Gratton-Cleroux of Ottawa was charged with assault causing bodily harm.

He will appear in court at a later date.

What is alleged to have occurred?

Police say a group of youths were riding an OC Transpo bus around 3 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 23 when they were approached by a Gratton-Cleroux.

One of the youths was assaulted, suffering serious injuries.

Gratton-Cleroux then got off the bus at Place d’Orléans and boarded another bus.
