Ottawa man charged in ByWard Market murder, victim identified

The Ottawa Police Service (OPS) say they have arrested and charged a man in a ByWard market homicide investigation.

One man was killed following an incident on George Street just after 10:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 12.

The victim has been identified as 45-year-old Stephen Pedicelli from Montreal.

The OPS homicide unit has charged Jean Paul Theragne, 31, of Ottawa with second-degree murder. He appeared in court earlier on Friday.

Details of any possible relation between the two have not been released as police continue with the investigation.
