2024 CHEO Dream of a Lifetime Lottery winners announced

It was a marvellous start to the year for Tracey Lavergne of Woodlawn and Mary-Anne Harvey of Kanata, who took home the biggest prizes in the 2024 CHEO Dream of a Lifetime Lottery draw.

Lavergne holds the winning ticket for the $3.3 million grand prize package, which includes a fully furnished Minto Dream Home. The 5,000 square foot, three bedroom and third-floor loft home is located on Companion Crescent in Manotick.

“The home features large windows, bathing the interior in natural light and offering stunning views of the private backyard,” the CHEO Foundation website states. “Active and relaxed recreation are at the centre of both the design and structure of the home where you will find an indoor golf simulator and a wellness spa.”

The grand prize also includes bi-weekly cleaning for one year from ATC Cleaning, $100,000 in cash, a Mercedes-Benz EQB 300 4MATIC SUV from Star Motors of Ottawa Inc. (or $69,249 cash), a $5,000 Farm Boy gift card, 50 gas cards totalling $5,000, moving services from Adam’s Moving and legal services from Mann Lawyers LLP.

Harvey was selected as the winner of the 50/50 Draw and will take home $1,278,582.50.

“We are grateful to our sponsors, trades and suppliers who have participated in making this lottery so successful once again,” Steve Read, President and CEO of the CHEO Foundation, said in a press release. “And most of all, we want to say thank you to our generous community. By purchasing tickets, you are directly making a difference in the lives of the children, youth and families who rely on CHEO.”

The total amount of funds raised through the 2024 lottery has yet to be confirmed but in 2023, over $13 million was raised for CHEO.

These funds support patient care and research at the eastern region’s only pediatric hospital. Each year CHEO supports over 500,000 children from eastern Ontario, western Quebec, Nunavut and northern Ontario. It also employs over 3,200 doctors, nurses, other health professionals and staff.

The lottery also offered hundreds more prizes. Those who bought tickets can check online to see if they won a prize.
