Single-vehicle collision leads to careless driving charge

Ottawa OPP have charged a driver with careless driving following a single-vehicle collision on Highway 417.
Shortly after 9 a.m. on Sunday, officers attended a collision between the Eagleson Road and Moodie Drive exits.
It was confirmed that the driver crashed through the guardrail after they tried to flick their cigarette out the passenger side window.
The driver was transported to hospital with minor injuries.
They also face a careless driving charge, which carries a $490 fine and six demerit points upon conviction, and a littering charge, which carries a $110 fine.
