Firefighters tackle three blazes in a matter of hours

Emergency responders were called to three fires since 1:00 a.m. on Friday morning.
The latest happened at 6:14 a.m. in Nepean as firefighters got a call from a resident who reported their single family home was ablaze.
The incident was in the 0-100 block of Beaver Ridge and the caller said they were outside but another person was still in the home. Crews arrived within two minutes and confirmed “heavy” flames were coming from the living room.

Crews met the resident outside and confirmed that both people were now out of the house. Quickly, firefighters brought a hose in the building, noting that flames had already spread from the front of the home to the back and the second floor.
Another team started a search through the thick smoke, despite the almost zero-visibility, they confirmed no one else was inside.
Firefighters began pulling the ceiling down on the first floor to find the flames and douse them. By 7:01 a.m. crews declared the fire was under control.
Thermal imaging tools were used to make sure there were no hot spots in the walls still standing.
