3 youth, two men arrested for attempted carjacking

Police arrested five people after a carjacking attempt in the Westboro area of the city last night.

It happened around 10:00 p.m. on March 25 in the 1300 block of Carling Avenue. A victim was walking to their vehicles when they were approached by the suspects who used a firearm to try and steal the car.

As a result, police were able to arrest two adult men and three youths for attempted carjacking. They were jointly charged with robbery and assault with intent to steal.

This comes as police are investigating a similar incident in the 1200 block of Carling Avenue.

Since the start of this year six vehicles have been stolen in the area, according to police data.
