Ottawa police investigating shooting in Bells Corners, 1 in hospital

A broad daylight shooting has prompted police to investigate in a commercial area of Bells Corners.

It happened in the 100 block of Bexley Place around 4:23 p.m. on Wednesday. Officers responded to calls of shooting and found a person suffering from a gunshot wound.

Police said they required medical attention and were take to hospital. Officials say that person remains in stable condition.

There is no current known risk to the public, police said in a release.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the Guns and Gangs Unit at 613-236-1222 ext. 5050.
