Temperature near 38 C with humidity in Ottawa

Sticky, humid temperatures are in the nation’s capital this week.

Environment Canada expects it to feel like 38 C with the humidex on Wednesday afternoon. The weather agency says it is supposed to be cloudy with a 60 per cent chance of showers.

There’s also a risk of a thunderstorm for Ottawa as wind blows in from the southwest and temperatures drop over the evening to a low of 19 C.

Storms are rolling across the province bringing heavy downpours to portions of the Greater Toronto Area.

The humidity is supposed to continue on Thursday as temperatures jump back up to 32 C. Another risk of a thunderstorm introduces cooler weather back into the area, forcing temperatures to drop back down to 14 C.

High temperatures are continuing to end the week, Environment Canada predicts.

The first official day of astronomical summer is June 20.
