Impaired driving charges laid following single-vehicle collision

One man has been charged with impaired driving related charges following a single-vehicle collision on Highway 417.

Shortly after 4 a.m. Sunday morning, Ottawa OPP responded to a report of a single vehicle colliding with a center median of Highway 417 near Richardson Side Road.

Officers state that when inquiring about the cause of the incident, they observed signs of confusion from the driver. Police administered a roadside screening device and transported the driver to the Ottawa Detachment for further testing.

Dean Preso, 51, is facing the following charges:

  • Operation While Impaired – Alcohol and Drugs
  • Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus)

As a result of the charges, the individual’s licence was suspended for 90 days and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
