Police respond to Greenboro community for reports of shots fired

Ottawa police were involved in an operation in a south community in the nation’s capital.

Officers were called to Greenboro at 10:42 a.m. on Tuesday morning, near the intersection of Lorry Greenburg Drive and Bramblegrove Crescent. According to the report, a caller heard shots fired.

Once on scene, police found a man using a pellet gun on his property.

“The police operation was safely concluded, and there is no threat to public safety,” officials said in an email.

Discharging a firearm, including an air gun, is only allowed within certain areas in the city. Police said in this instance it was not a permitted area for discharging.

No criminal charges were laid.
