Multiple downtown roadways will be closed this weekend for the Capital Pride Parade, impacting traffic through the nation’s capital and transit services.
The event’s goal is to “create opportunities to celebrate, advocate, educate and connect people, respecting the full diversity of the 2SLGBTQ+ community.” It will host free concerts, the parade and multiple shows over the weekend.
Bank Street will be closed between Slater Street and Gladstone Avenue. The closures will start at 3:00 p.m. on Friday and last until Sunday, Aug. 24, at midnight.
Further downtown roads need to be closed on Sunday to allow organizers to stage the parade.

- Laurier Avenue West, between Nicholas and Elgin streets
- From 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.:

- From 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.:
