Crews respond to serious two-vehicle collision

Emergency responders were on scene in a rural Ottawa community for a serious two-vehicle crash.
It happened Frank Kenny and Russell roads in Vars, just after 11:39 a.m. on Monday. Firefighters were called to the area by Ottawa police, who said they needed help with the incident.
When fire crews arrived, they found both vehicles on their side and one driver trapped inside. Officials were able to stabilize the vehicle before using specialized tools to remove the person from inside.
The trapped person was freed by 12:09 p.m.
Officials from Ornge Air Ambulance also responded to the collision.
Firefighters left the scene with Ottawa police at 12:51 p.m.
