1 killed after dump truck and vehicle collide in west Ottawa

Emergency personnel responded to a dump truck and vehicle crash in Ottawa’s west end that left one person.

Paramedics told CityNews that they were called to the scene around 1:00 p.m. on Thursday at the intersection of Fallowfield and Eagleson roads. They assessed three people on scene. One person was sent to a local trauma centre, and another was confirmed dead on scene.

Ottawa police confirmed that a vehicle and a dump truck collided, and one person was pronounced dead.

No more details will be released due to the next of kin being notified, officials said.

According to firefighters, they were called to extricate two people from the collision that had happened. They responded at 1:07 p.m.

Nick DeFazio, public information officer with Ottawa fire, told CityNews they completed the removal of the two people in the same vehicle by 1:19 p.m.

Ottawa police are on scene directing traffic and saying people should expect delays.
