Pumpkins, ghosts and goblins take over Ottawa

As the long weekend approaches, there are several spooky events in the nation’s capital that will make people scream or look in awe.
Temperatures are expected to feel more autumn-like than earlier this week, when record-breaking temperatures were felt. The holiday weekend is kicking off, and staying sunny until Monday, when rain showers are expected.
According to the forecast from Environment Canada, temperatures will be hovering closer to seasonal and will be chilly overnight. Saturday is expected to be around 19 C during the day and drop to a low of 7 C overnight.
The sunny skies will be enticing for people to engage in many activities outdoors. Whether it’s gawking a beautifully carved pumpkins or jumping at a scream through a haunted house, there are many spooky things to do this weekend.
Pumpkinferno Oct. 9-13
Upper Canada Village’s award-winning event allows people to walk through over 9,000 hand-crafted pumpkins. Lit up with candles in the dark, the walk through the streets of the village will showcase “spectacular” artistry and creativity.
Acres of Terror Oct. 10-11
Labelled a “terrifying Halloween attraction,” this weekend, people can be scared straight. The orchard just outside of the city, will allow guests to travel on a spooky wagon ride, through the house of terror, a fog maze and cross paths in a spooky village.
“Healthy and safety protocols are in place to ensure a safe visit,” the post reads.
Angels & Demons Oct. 10-11
Performance at Ottawa’s Iron Cabaret will be “thrilling” as the show blends burlesque, pole performance and high-energy routines.
People should expect a full experience with “wickedly” entertaining acts full of spooky stunts and “unexpected delights.”
FrightFest Sept. 20-Nov.1
Saunders Farm at night turns into a haunted place where ghosts and zombies roam free in an immersive Halloween destination. FrightFest runs Friday and Saturday nights throughout the month and promises heart-pounding thrills and chills.
“With 7 haunted attractions, street theatre and food booths galore, you’ll be sure to have a scary good time,” the post reads.
