Police seek additional information in 2023 homicides

Ottawa Police are renewing calls for the public to come forward with information in relation to a pair of 2023 homicides.

According to police, a shooting took place at a wedding reception at the Infinity Convention Centre in the 2900 block of Gibford Drive, near Uplands Drive and Hunt Club Road on Sept. 2, 2023.

Two individuals died as a result, both identified as young men from Toronto. Several others were injured.

At the time, OPS said there was no reason to believe the shooting was hate motivated.

Over two years later, no arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.

“Since the incident, investigators have followed up on all available leads, reviewed video footage, collected forensic evidence, and reached out to the community,” OPS said in a news release. “Investigators have also spoken with witnesses who were willing to provide statements.”

Police are asking anyone who has yet to speak to police who may have information related to the case to come forward.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the OPS Homicide Unit at 613-236-1222, ext. 5493. Anonymous tips can also be submitted to Crime Stoppers.
