1 charged after quantity of methamphetamine seized

One person is facing possession charges after illegal substances were seized in Hawkesbury.

OPP East Region Community Street Crime Unit says it began investigating a case of drug trafficking earlier this year after concerns were raised by community members.

On Dec. 19, officers executed a search warrant on Regent Street.

During the search, police say a quantity of methamphetamine (speed) pills and cash were seized. One person was arrested without incident.

A 55-year-old Hawkesbury resident is now being charged with the following:

  • Possession of Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking;
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance; and
  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000.

The accused was released from custody and is pending a court appearance on Jan. 21, 2026.
