As the weather remains unpredictable, the City of Ottawa has instilled a daytime parking ban for Sunday.
On Sunday, Jan. 11, you will not be able to park on city streets between 10 a.m. and 7 p.m.
The city says the hours may be extended as needed to complete winter street maintenance.
“Winter street parking restrictions in Ottawa are designed to allow snow removal crews to clear the streets easily and efficiently,” the city says. “Vehicles parked on streets when a restriction is in effect may be towed, and their owners may be fined.”
There will be designated winter parking spots available at several park and ride lots including Riverview, Innovation, Chapel Hill, Nepean Woods, Greenboro, Leitrim and Eagleson. Select parking will also be available at certain community centres and arenas.
A full list of winter parking spaces can be found on the city’s website.
To support local businesses, drivers will still be able to park on certain commercial roads including parks of Bank Street, Elgin Street and Wellington Street.
