Two impaired driving charges made by Lanark County OPP

The Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged an Omemee resident and a Carleton Place resident with impaired driving on August 3 after receiving complaints.
In the case of the Omemee resident, OPP received a complaint of a youth jumping off a bridge on highway 7 in Beckwith Township, west of Carleton Place. When officers arrived on scene just after 6 p.m. on July 31, the driver at the scene was spoken to before being arrested and transported to the police station for testing.
Devon Watson, a 40-year-old woman was then charged with operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus) and driving motor vehicle with liquor readily available.
Watson’s driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days and the vehicle is impounded for seven days.
On Saturday, August 1, the Lanark County Detachment of the OPP received a complaint of a possible impaired driver on Arthur Street in Carleton Place. Officers located the vehicle that night just after 11:15 p.m.
After being transported to the station and tested, 39-year-old Kyle Hudson was charged with operation while impaired – alcohol or drug, fail or refuse to comply with a breath demand and fail to comply with an undertaking.
His driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days and the vehicle is also impounded for seven days.
