OTTAWA – It’s the biggest sporting event in the world!

The 2014 World Cup kicked off Thursday and if you can’t be in Brazil, there is a number of places to enjoy the tournament right here at home.

Italian fans are guaranteed to flock to Preston Street. as the owners of Sala San Marco are both of Italian and Spanish decent.

Both countries games will play there throughout the tournament on two large projector screens.

Portugal and Latin American fans can head over to Cafe Caco on Montreal Road where free food will be offered during games, according to the owner.

Brazil and Netherlands fans can cheer for their countries at the Earl of Sussex on Sussex Drive, where you can enjoy all the matches on two outdoor projector screens.

Georgetown on Bank Street will be packed with England fans, and is also expected to play Germany and Nigeria games.

If you’re cheering for Greece, head over to Hometown Sports and Grill on Bank Street.
