Aylmer double murder believed to be contract killing: Sûreté du Québec

GATINEAU — Sûreté du Québec say the murders of Amanda Trottier and Travis Votour last year were contract revenge killings.

Provincial police allege Samson VonRichter, 24, and Sonia Vilon, 39, were hired by Ronald Junior Brazeau, 34, to kill the couple.

Police believe the victims had stolen drugs from Brazeau, who then hired the co-accused to kill them.

Six additional people have been arrested for drug trafficking, all alleged to have ties to an Aylmer crime ring that is believed to be led by Brazeau.

There are now nine people custody, including Brazeau, VonRichter, Vilon, and Eric Boivin, who was arrested as he left the courthouse, after attending court proceedings for Brazeau in Gatineau, Thursday.

Brazeau, VonRichter and Vilon have been charged with first-degree murder.

Trottier and Vatour, both 23, were found dead in an Aylmer home on January 6, 2014.

Police don’t believe there will be more arrests, but say more charges could be laid. Anyone with information is asked to call Sûreté du Québec at 1-800-659-4264.
