Eastern Ontario Health Unit hits vaccine milestone, surpassing 60k COVID-19 vaccines administered

The Eastern Ontario Health Unit (EOHU) has crossed a significant milestone in its COVID-19 vaccination rollout on Thursday, April 29, after administering a total of 60,000 doses to date.
EOHU Medical Officer of Health Dr. Paul Roumeliotis tweeted the milestone Thursday evening, ahead of eligibility being expanded to those 55 and older.
Today we reached the 60,000 milestone of #COVID19 vaccines administered in the @EOHU_TWEET region!
Tommorrow another important milestone: 55 year olds + become eligible to book an appointment for their vaccine.

The Leeds, Grenville and Lanark District Health Unit (LGLDHU) is also continuing its vaccination rollout campaign while looking at expansion to expedite the process. Over 39,000 residents across the region have received at least one dose of a vaccine.
Next week, the health unit will be continue to build capacity for the four fixed sites in place, while also look continuing to plan for pop-up vaccination sites within other communities.
