Runner suffers cardiac arrest and passes away during Ottawa Race Weekend

A 35-year-old man has died after suffering a cardiac arrest during Tamarack Ottawa Race Weekend.

The Ottawa Police Service confirmed Monday that the man collapsed during Sunday's marathon and half marathon.

Emergency crews were called to the scene on Queen Elizabeth Driveway near Pretoria Avenue, at 11:21 a.m, Sunday.

Authorities say the man passed away, Sunday.
