A case of COVID-19 has been confirmed at an Ottawa GoodLife Fitness location.

The club says an associate at its Herongate Square Club, located at 1600 Heron Rd., recently tested positive for the novel coronavirus.

Gym officials say this person worked two morning shifts this week, one on Monday, July 20, and one shift on Tuesday, July 21, before testing positive.

The individual also stayed at the club for personal workouts following each shift in the early afternoon.

The associate has not been back at the club since Tuesday and did wear a mask during each of their shifts.

GoodLife had temporarily closed the Herongate Square Club out of an abundance of caution and to gather more information from the affected person.

The fitness company says it will also contact Ottawa Public Health and notify any other associates who were potentially exposed to the virus by this individual. They will be asked to self-monitor and self-isolate if they experience any signs of COVID-19.
