Ottawa pastor facing sex assault charge, police believe there could be more victims

An local pastor is facing a sexual assault charge in connection to an incident last year.

In March of 2019, the Ottawa Police Service (OPS) launched an investigation into an alleged sex assault in a private home, involving a victim in his 20's.

Investigators say the victim was doing community service work when he came into contact with a man who was an active pastor at an Ottawa-area community service organization. 

Brian Matthew Markle, 54, of Ottawa, faces one count of sexual assault and is due in court on November 26. 

Police believe there could be more victims, and are asking anyone with information to contact them.
