Ottawa gas prices heading for second straight big drop at midnight

Drivers in Ottawa will want to hold out for one more day before they fill up the tank, if they can.
The average price at most Ottawa stations will drop five cents at midnight to $1.409 cents a litre, according to Roger McKnight, chief petroleum analyst at En-Pro International.

The anticipated drop follows a four cent decrease on Thursday, Jan. 5. When drivers wake up on Friday morning, prices in Ottawa will have fallen nine cents over two days.
Gas prices peaked at $2.159 a litre in June and reached a yearly low on Dec. 10 when they dropped to $1.339 a litre.
