Gatineau police make arrest after break-in on Rue Saint-Louis

A 34-year-old man is facing charges after a break-in at an apartment on Rue Saint-Louis in Gatineau.

Officers were called to an apartment building around 2:45 a.m., Monday, but two break and enter suspects had already left the area by the time they arrived at the scene.

Thanks to detailed information from the victim, police were able to quickly track one suspect and make an arrest around 3:15 a.m.
 
Officers say they found several objects on the suspect, including electronics stolen from the apartment.
 
The man appeared before the Court of Quebec, Monday, facing charges of:

  • Breaking and entering
  • Possession of property obtained by crime
  • Obstruction 

Police are still working to identify the second suspect and say other arrests may follow.
 
Several items seized from the suspect were able to be returned to their owner after the theft was reported.
