OPP charge one person with impaired driving

Officers with the Upper Ottawa Valley (UOV) Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police charged a 23-year-old man after a traffic stop on Pembroke Street in Pembroke on April 16. 

At roughly 9 p.m., OPP officers conducted a field sobriety test on a driver who was taken into custody and transported to the detachment centre for further evaluation. Police officers also seized drugs at the stop. 

As a result of this investigation Justin Fortin, of Davidson, Quebec, has been charged with the following offences:

  • Operation while impaired – drugs
  • Possession of a schedule I substance – methamphetamine

The accused had their driver's license suspended for 90 days and the vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days. The accused was released to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke on May 31, 2022.
