One person shot during funeral service of homicide victim

The Ottawa Police Service (OPS) is investigating an incident after someone was shot during a funeral service for a homicide victim on July 8. 

The OPS received multiple 9-1-1 calls from a cemetery on Manotick Station Road reporting shots were fired, and officers immediately responded.

The funeral was for 24-year-old Abdulhamid Haji Ragab, the victim of a shooting incident on Banff Avenue in Ottawa's south end that took place on Tuesday, July 5. A man, 23-year-old Chawn Lemieux of Ottawa, has been charged with second-degree murder. 

One man arrived in hospital with a gunshot wound shortly after the funeral. His injuries were non-life threatening.
