Atlético Ottawa’s Ollie Bassett and Ballou Tabla receive CPL top player nods

A pair of Atlético Ottawa players are nominated for a prestigious award from the Canadian Premier League (CPL)
Atlético Ottawa standouts Ollie Bassett and Ballou Tabla are two of the five nominees for CPL Player of the Year, the league announced on Oct. 20.
Bassett led Ottawa with eight goals and was named to the CPL’s Gatorade Team of the Week a league-high 11 times. He earned a Player of the Month nod in May.
Tabla, was named to the league’s Gatorade Team of the Week six times in 2022 and was one of four two-time Player of the Week award winners during the regular season.
Forge FC’s Alexander Achinioti-Jönsson, Pacific FC’s Manny Aparicio and Valour FC’s Sean Rea also received CPL Player of the Year nominations.
The winner will be revealed at the league's awards ceremony on Oct. 29 and Oct. 30, the weekend of the CPL championship game.
