Ottawa isn't where you'd expect to find the work of the mysterious artist Banksy, but up until Oct. 7, residents can experience his work in an immersive exhibit.
Marc Leverton, author of the book Banksy: Myths and Legends and collaborator on the VanGogh 360 and Banksy 360 immersive art shows, told The Sam Laprade Show on July 19 that the immersive exhibit is a chance for people to see Banksy's work outside the flat confines of a computer or phone screen.
“Most people, particularly in Canada… they're not going to see a real Banksy on a wall in their local city,” he said, adding that the exhibit will give visitors a sense of scale of the art and emulate the “wow-factor” of seeing his work in real life.
Leverton has been following the artist's career from the start, and Banksy's enigmatic career is what inspired him to write a book about him, explaining that the “swirl of mystery” that surrounds him is part of what makes him so intriguing.
Banksy 360: The World's Most Elusive Street Artist will be at the Aberdeen Pavilion at Lansdowne Park.
